Soft Winter Wheat
The story of GREY GOOSE begins with the finest soft winter wheat grown by generations of farming families near the Picardy region of France. GREY GOOSE selects the wheat certified as Class 1 bl panifiable supérieur or "superior bread-making wheat' same wheat used to make world-renowned French bread and pastries.
Purity is imperative
The Pristine Springs of Gensac
GREY GOOSE uses only the purest water naturally filtered through Grande Champagne limestone in Gensac springs. An artesian well draws from an aquifer 500 feet beneath the ground - sourcing water untouched by humans and pollutants.
There are two facilities exclusively dedicated to creation of Grey Goose, each located near an ingredient source to ensure freshness. Ingredients used are soft winter wheat and Gensac spring water. If the ingredients were of any lesser quality, even the best production process could not create a world-class spirit using them.
Milling, fermentation and distillation occur at a distillery in Picardie located near the wheat fields. The final stages of creation - blending, filtration and bottling, take place in the Cognac region, near the Gensac spring and in the home of France's centuries of spirits-making traditions.
GREY GOOSE uses a unique five-step column distillation process in which each step plays a different and important role in developing the character of the spirit. After it's blended, GREY GOOSE passes through a specially designed filter that helps ensure the incredibly smooth mouth feel that GREY GOOSE is known for.
The unique production process is designed to bring out the naturally superior characteristics of the ingredients, rather than the standard approach which is to filter out faults and impurities. Additionally, GREY GOOSE is the only vodka with a Maître de Chai, who, together with his team, oversees every step of creation, from field to bottle.
